The Accommodation at the annex

The annex is a hidden gem nestled at the bottom of a private lane, surrounded by fields. Attached to our family home but with its own separate entrance, the annex is large and spacious with one super comfy bedroom with king-size bed, a well-equipped kitchen, a bright dining area, cosy lounge with woodburner, bathroom and a well room! This part of the house is believed to be nearly 300 years old and we’ve kept the decor light and cosy.

The Location

We are set in the middle of beautiful countryside, surrounded by fields and trees. Ideally located to reach both the north and south coasts, with lots of hidden sights to see nearby. We are just a short drive from both Newquay and Truro, and only 20 minutes from Newquay airport. We’re around 25 minutes form Bodmin Parkway station. There are two fantastic local pubs within a short distance both serving great food. The closest beach is around a 5 mile drive but you are spoilt for choice as both coasts are easily accessible. There is parking onsite and we know of a good taxi firm for pickup from the station or airport.

Pricing

I am committed to making the retreat experience inclusive and financially accessible. To this end, there are two price options for each retreat. The higher price level includes a little extra to ‘pay it forward’ to help someone else access a retreat. In the future, my intention is to offer one subsidised place every few months.

For a limited time only, get £50 off stays taken between 2nd April and 20th April, and from 10th June to 23rd July and from 9th September until 15th November subject to availability.

Things to note

The annex is attached to our house but it has its own separate entrance and is self-contained. Lucy will be on hand should you need anything.

Ideally, you will need a car if you want to explore the area whilst you’re here, as we live at the bottom of a country lane which has quite a few potholes. We do know a fantastic taxi driver in the village and there is a bus stop that is walking distance (down narrow country lanes).

The kitchen has a microwave, hob and oven and all kitchen utensils and crockery and cutlery.

We recommend bringing wellies or outdoor shoes and waterproofs as the grounds and garden can get rather muddy and slippy.

Slippers and warm, comfy clothes are also recommended.

The bathroom is located downstairs with bath and overhead shower and is accessed through the well room.

Due to our location, wifi and phone reception can at times be a little patchy, so please bear this in mind.

Lastly, the house is very old (we love this fact) but it does mean it has many quirks such as a downstairs bathroom, small steps into some of the rooms and low ceilings meaning that it is not suitable for anyone with mobility needs.
